An artist that is synonymous with classy, melodic trance music, Oliver Smith produces another piece of club gold in “Butterfly Effect” – his first release for Anjunabeats since last year’s brilliant “Chordplay”. Setting off with an insistent bubbling groove, “Butterfly Effect” adds waves of clean melody before arriving at a trademark Smith breakdown.

Blending a huge energy-charged riff with solid grooves and multi-layered arrangements, “Butterfly Effect” soars out of the drop and signals Smith’s return in epic style.

Oliver Smith’s own Club Mix adds a slightly alternative slant. Adding some extra grit to the grooves, the Club Mix also features a piano illuminated breakdown and a brighter, more intense interpretation of the lead riff.

Above & Beyond feat. Zoë Johnston "You Got To Go" – Release announcement and CD pre-order

Posted by Anjunabeats On August - 4 - 2011

Featuring the distinctive vocals of Zoë Johnston, “You Got To Go” is the latest single to be taken from Above & Beyond’s critically acclaimed second artist album “Group Therapy” – described by Mixmag as “the biggest artist album of the year”.

Following in the footsteps of “Sun & Moon” and “Thing Called Love”, the optimistic “You Got To Go” is a song about seizing the moment and taking control of the opportunities in front of you.

Inspired by Kyau & Albert’s energised club remix of the original album version, the A&B vs. K&A Radio Edit combines the melodic riff-driven energy of the Kyau & Albert remix with a more radio-focused approach – capturing the song’s beauty and orchestral touches perfectly.

The limited edition CD single also includes a brand new club mix from Above & Beyond themselves, the high-energy Kyau & Albert remix, two contrasting remixes from the legendary MJ Cole and an organic tech-house version from Dusky aka Solarity. Above & Beyond feat. Zoë Johnston “You Got To Go” will be released on Anjunabeats on 18th September.

Pre-order the CD single from Anjunastore HERE.

A epic journey of a track that merges diverse sounds effortlessly, Andrew Bayer’s “Counting The Points” is the first single to be taken from the innovative artist’s debut album “It’s Artificial” – described by DJ Magazine as “truly progressive… an outright winner” in a recent review.

Taking its inspiration from the “counterpoint” principle in music theory, “Counting The Points” is a beautifully schizophrenic glide through Bayer’s maverick musical imagination – joining the dots between Boards Of Canada, Deadmau5 and Steve Reich.

Seamlessly segueing Bayer’s influences from IDM and ambient glitch with a more groove-driven electro sound, “Counting The Points” builds towards a climbing crescendo of uplifting ambient melodies – before hitting back with a suckerpunch of warped bass plunges and bleep melodies.

A fellow former student of the renowned Berklee College Of Music, Matt Lange then repays the favour for Andrew Bayer’s masterful remix of his “Rift” track earlier in the year. Smoothing the track out, Lange’s “Counting The Points” remix takes things down an intricate, chilled-house route with a beautiful piano melody at its centerpiece.

Also available is Bayer’s own more Club focused mix, which has been a staple of Above & Beyond’s recent sets.

Seemingly unstoppable at the moment, Israel’s Maor Levi teams up with the mysterious Raul Siberdi for the uplifting progressive trance of “Infatuation”. Like Maor’s Anjunadeep groover “Devotion”, “Infatuation” has become a regular fixture in Above & Beyond’s sets with a groove-fuelled sound that merges elements of prog, trance and house perfectly.

With an ethereal female vocal at its centrepiece, the magic of “Infatuation” lies in its heavenly, gently rising breakdown which comes sandwiched between intense, groove-heavy club rhythms that nod to Maor’s second life as tech-house powerhouse 123XYZ.

Offering a slamming contrast, Polish star Nitrous Oxide ups the energy levels and the intensity on his remix. A throbbing groove, sweeping breakdown, subtle pianos and a soaring leadline all combine to lift the vocal calls of “Infatuation” into the realm of peak-time 3am trancefloor.

A producer that seems to going from strength to strength right now, Russia’s Cramp has caused an almighty buzz with his latest track – “RU116″.

Debuted by Above & Beyond at ASOT 500 at Den Bosch, speculation about who was behind the mysterious, then unknown, “RU116″ flooded the message boards as fans were swept up by its infectious, powerful groove and spine-tingling melodies.

A classy future trancer, “RU116″ keeps it simple but devastatingly effect – a quality club groove, a beautifully melodic breakdown and a drop that wraps them together perfectly for club devastation.

Making a return to Anjunabeats, Texas duo Tritonal then toughen things up for clubs with a quirky electro-charged groove and a breakdown that super-sizes the original melodies – and throws in some cheeky drops for good measure.

Progressive star PROFF continues his recent purple patch with a warm, piano-kissed groover that is perfect for summer sets.
