The always-controversial Miley Cyrus found herself in some hot water again when a video surfaced of the star, at her 19th birthday party, telling her pals (including Kelly Osbourne), "You know you're a stoner when friends make you a Bob Marley cake—you know you smoke way too much f***in' weed.”

That comment quickly spread across the Internet like a wild fire and once again reminded everyone that Miley may always be Disney’s baddest girl. As everyone woke from their turkey comas on Monday and headed back to work or school or whatever people do on Mondays, Miley decided to address the situation on Twitter.

"Please stop bombarding my friends twitter pages with rude comments. NOTHING gives you the right to threaten people. I love u @MissKellyO," she wrote, shouting out her "So Undercover" co-star, who had already taken to Twitter to defend the pop star.

"Let me make something very clear after @MileyCyrus salvia incident we started calling her bob miley as a JOKE! the cake was also A JOKE! it makes me sick that @MileyCyrus so called 'friends' would sell her out and lead people 2 believe she is someone that she is not!" she explained. "u guys if @MileyCyrus is not recording/filming/touring she is works everyday how could she possible do all that if she was a stoner! #think."

Apparently the Tweeters of the world didn’t think too much, and began bombarding Kells with "rude comments," as Miley put it. The bottom line, according to Miley’s rep, is that it was all meant in good fun.

"It's all been taken out of context. The cake was a joke and Miley's response was intended to be sarcastic," the rep explained, mirroring Kelly’s comments.

As officials crack down on Occupy movements across the country in a move to tear down the impromptu encampments erected in support of the 99 percent, plenty of celebrities have spoken out in support of the cause.

Sure, everyone from Kanye West and Jay-Z to Katy Perry, Susan Sarandon, Lupe Fiasco, Michael Moore and Cornel West have dropped in and chopped it up with the protesting hordes. But only someone as brave as Miley Cyrus has been willing to put her creative reputation on the line and make some fresh art to celebrate the sit-in protests. (Okay, Third Eye Blind did release the rousing "If There Ever Was a Time," but, you know, it's Third Eye Blind.)

Cyrus has just released the video for the remix of her 2010 anthem "Liberty Walk," which is cut to a montage of Occupy footage from across the nation and the globe. The Village Voice wondered if the clip was a Miley production, or maybe just a mash-up made by fans. It does feature the opening caption, "this is dedicated to the thousands of people who are standing up for what they believe in," which sounds very 2011 Miley. But unfortunately for Cyrus, it posted right around the time that a flap erupted about her allegedly stony birthday celebration, which kind of made the former Disney queen fit the Fox News take on the alleged do-nothing attitude of the OWS hordes.

Miley, who, happens to be one of the 1 percent, hasn't officially commented on the video yet, but the Voice said it may actually be a good thing. " If Miley Cyrus can glom onto the movement's message so easily, then it's unlikely to be particularly complex," the paper reported. "Either way, though, Miley Cyrus making a video in support of Occupy Wall Street seems to be a far more important development than it's being given credit for. Where the hell do you go from there?"

Miley Cyrus is a girl with a cause (or nine)!

Yesterday, we gave Miley a little grief for her inability to stop her friends from recording her saying and doing silly things but perhaps we were a little too hard on the 19-year-old pop star because time and time again she steps up to prove her heart is always in the right place.

She recently unveiled a video for a remixed version of her track “Liberty Walk” to support the Occupy Wall Street movement, and now photographer Adam Bouska has posted a behind-the-scenes photo to his Facebook profile of Cyrus posing for the NoH8 campaign. NoH8 is a silent protest campaign that supports same-sex marriage equality.

Cyrus has been long been a vocal advocate for gay rights, going so far as to tattoo an equal sign on her middle finger in a showing of her support for marriage equality. After she posted a pic of her new ink on Twitter in late July, some of her followers criticized the political statement she was making but Cyrus did not back down, saying, “Where does it say in the bible to judge others? Oh right. It doesn't. GOD is the only judge honey. GOD is love.” Later, she added, “If u don’t stand 4 something you’ll fall for anything.”

Tell it, Miley!

The young pop star’s decision to further involve herself in the NoH8 movement got us thinking about a few of our other favorite stars who have taken a stand for LGBT equality. Read on for a few more and why we think their commitment goes above and beyond the rest.

Lindsay Lohan
Yeah, yeah, yeah … Go ahead and gripe all day about how terrible she is, but when it comes to her commitment to LGBT equality, La Lohan has never wavered. Lohan’s pictures for the campaign hit the web at almost exactly the same time as marriage equality legislation was passed in her native New York and the actress took to her Twitter to share in the love, saying, “Proud to be FROM NY #GayMarriageLegalNY.”

Emma Roberts
The pretty up-and-coming actress did not let concerns that taking a somewhat controversial stand could harm her burgeoning career. We think that is pretty awesome and will go see pretty much anything this niece-of-Julia does because we like it when stars go for it.

Khloe Kardashian
Kim who? We all know Khloe Kardashian is the best (least terrible?) Kardashian of all, and while her sister – who, yes, we know posed for the campaign too – is the one who gets all the headlines, we think it’s about time to give a little shine to the one member of the Kardashian family that doesn’t make us want to jump off a cliff.

We're not even talking about smoking weed, which she admitted to doing – in a video that is now all over the Internet – a little too much at her 19th birthday party this weekend, we're talking about getting caught saying or doing things that she has to know are going to cause the odd bit of public outrage on camera.

"You know you're a stoner when friends make you a Bob Marley cake—you know you smoke way too much f***in' weed," Cyrus said as pal Kelly Osbourne presented her with a birthday cake.

Cyrus has a long and ridiculous history of letting people film her doing silly things. Whether she's grinding on director Adam Shankman, hitting a bong packed with salvia or posing for pictures while slanting her eyes, Cyrus, who's been doing her thing in the entertainment industry since she was eight years old, has repeatedly endured criticism for her off-screen behavior ... behavior none of us would even know about if she'd simply ask her "friends" to put the camera down.

We want to be very clear here: We are not shaking our finger at Cyrus. She is young and it's her life, man. She's even been pretty clear that she doesn't see herself as a role model. "My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act because I’m still figuring that out for myself," she told Harper's Bazzar last year. "To take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes whether I do or not. That’s just life."

We think she makes a pretty valid point. But she'd still be doing herself a major solid by asking her friends to put the cameras away and enjoy the party.

We we're lucky enough to grow up in a time before technology had advanced to a point where documenting our every move was possible. Miley doesn't have that going for her. It's not her fault, it's just how things are now and she needs to learn how to adapt to a cultural environment she should have a pretty good grasp on.

Or maybe she just doesn't care what we all think of her. It could be that too.

Miley Cyrus sure knows how to get her point across on Twitter.

The teen pop star and actress has apparently been receiving criticism for her weight after having gained a few pounds. (We didn't even notice; she looks great to us.) So rampant were the distasteful comments that Cyrus took to Twitter earlier this week to post a picture of a woman suffering from an extreme eating disorder alongside the message, "By calling girls like me fat, this is what you’re doing to other people."

Soon after, Cyrus' friend Demi Lovato, who herself overcame an eating disorder through the intervention of a treatment facility, voiced her support for Cyrus, saying, "Whoever called you that has it coming." To which the "Party in the USA" singer responded, "I will destroy any one that ever calls you the F word. You have the SEXIIIESTTTT curvyyyy body! I LOVE IT! Werk those curves."

Sadly, we suspect the attacks on Cyrus may have less to do with her gaining a few pounds and more to do with pathetic Internet trolls jealous of one thing. Find out what it is after the jump.

So there you go. We're glad Miley doesn't seem to be sweating this kind of thing because her boy – Liam Hemsworth, who will soon inspire "Twilight"-esque mania as Gale in "The Hunger Games" – seems as into her as ever, telling Who magazine, “There is this place in Nashville called Steak and Shake, which is pretty much the best food, ever. That is our secret, sexy place to go. When I look over at her when she’s biting into a steak sandwich and there is some steak sauce dripping down her chin, there is nothing sexier than that.”

We think we like Liam Hemsworth even more after reading that.

And to those idiots trolling Cyrus, back off. Because no matter how many YouTube videos you make mocking Cyrus' minor weight fluctuations, Liam Hemsworth will still never know who you are. So really all you're doing is revealing yourself to have nothing better to do than talk about a stranger's weight on various social media. Aren't you proud of yourself? I bet your parents certainly are. Ugh. Class dismissed.
